Amazing underwater world bali

how does the usual course day look like?

The schedule can change depending on weather and diving conditions. An usual course day on the wonderful island Lembongan (day 2,3 & 5) starts with a yoga session at about 7:00 in the morning. This Yoga asana prepares your body and mind for the day.

Right after breakfast around 9:00 you take the boat to go scuba diving and explore the underwater world around Lembongan and Nusa Penida. No, you don’t just go for one dive – you go twice down to see beautiful fish and corals! If the conditions allow it, we will dive once at manta point. If we are lucky, we can observe the majestic mantas.

Enjoy some hours in the afternoon for yourself or to spend time with others. Make your day complete with a mellow yoga asana or meditation before dinner.

The days in Tulamben look slightly different. As the diving can be done from the beach, we have a bit more time. The mornings remain the same, you can go to one or two dives and in the late afternoon we do workshops.

Most of the yoga workshops aren’t physical and can be done after the diving without getting exhausted. There are different topics around mindfulness, acceptance and self-love, communication, body awareness, emotions and breath.

SCUBA DIVE AND MEDITATION & YOGA

Why should I do yoga as a scuba diver?

There are many good reasons why we should do yoga as a diver. Everyone has different needs but for sure one of the most important reasons is to learn how to breathe. Once we knew how to breath very naturally, but our lifestyle, habits or stress let us breath differently. We breath shallow and rapidly, which is very inefficient.

While diving we want to maintain a natural, deep breath. This breath helps us to control buoyancy, trim and reduce the air consumption. You will learn the deep diaphragmatic breathing – a great technique to reduce anxiety and save air!

You think that you will float to the surface, when you take a deep breath? Please remember: while deep breathing you just breathe profound, you don’t take big breaths!

scuba dive and meditation & yoga – There are a lot more benefits for divers practicing yoga:

  • managing your stress level
  • consume less air while diving
  • get stronger and more flexible
  • be able to be more mindful under water and in daily life

scuba dive and meditation - who teaches yoga?

Valeria Moser

I am passionate about exploring this beautiful world and connecting back to the roots.Since many years I was working as a personal trainer for clients with injuries.

Four years ago I started to do retreats for my clients in places close to the ocean, where she combined bodywork and climbing or surfing.

As I started to include yoga, the students began to dive even deeper into their journey. I love to guide my students through their self-discovery, each one at their own pace.

I maintain a traditional style of yoga. Pranayama, meditation and mindfulness are big components of my teachings.
